We are 3 therapists with considerable experience in working with the psychological and emotional conditions that result from the pressure of life today or issues from the past that have remained unresolved. Diana Flanagan trained as a counsellor in the late 1980s and as a psychotherapist a few years later. She has completed further specialist training in working with trauma and with the long-term effects of childhood abuse. She offers both long and short term therapy, individually and in groups and has substantial experience in working with all age ranges from late adolescence onwards. Her special areas of interest are in early relationship difficulties, depression, loss and issues of low self-esteem as well as trauma in all its forms. Margaret Stribbling completed her training as a psychodynamic counsellor at Leicester University ten years ago. She has since undergone further professional training relating to the many aspects of trauma and abuse, particularly working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She has worked in Primary Care for over nine years and also has a private practice covering a broad range of issues including loss, depression, anger, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and anxiety. Having acquired considerable experience using a number of different models, her aim is to assess and then discuss with the client the most suitable approach to meet that person’s specific needs. Sue Brown has a post-graduate degree in Psychodynamic Counselling from Leicester University and did further specialist training with the Eating Disorders Association in London. She has trained in the use of Thought Field Therapy, an energy therapy that addresses the patterns of emotional distress that are encoded in the body. TFT can be used for rapid and effective treatment of emotional and acute trauma, anxiety, panic, phobias and more. |
